warp.tile_cholesky_solve_inplace#

warp.tile_cholesky_solve_inplace(
L: Tile[Float, tuple[int, int]],
y: Tile[Float, tuple[int, ...]],
fill_mode: str = 'lower',
) → None#
  • Kernel: true
  • Python: false
  • Differentiable: false

Solve A x = y in place, overwriting y with x.

Behaves like tile_cholesky_solve(), including the meaning of L under each fill_mode, the dtype rules, the support for a 1D or 2D right-hand side, and the backend selection, except that the solution overwrites y instead of being returned.

This is a cooperative operation, so every thread in the block must call it.

This in-place variant avoids allocating shared memory for a separate output.

Parameters:
  • L – A square triangular Cholesky factor of A, with shape=(M, M).

  • y – The right-hand side, a tile with shape=(M,) or shape=(M, NRHS), overwritten by the solution x.

  • fill_mode – "lower" or "upper". Must be a compile-time constant.

See tile_cholesky() for a usage example.
