A Digital Twin for Soil Health Prediction, Powered by Subseasonal Climate AI
NVIDIA Earth-2 provides a platform foundation for weather and climate modeling, but agricultural decisions rarely depend directly on atmospheric variables—they hinge on how the living soil responds. Team-Soil, a collaboration between AreaandDee LLC, BioSensor Solutions, and NVIDIA, is building that missing local-response layer: a compact attention-augmented LSTM trained on ERA5 climate drivers that predicts microbial CO₂ flux and colonization timing site-by-site. On a held-out random-split test set the model reaches an R² of 0.982, and a GPU optimization pass on a single H100 cuts end-to-end training time by 2.5×—turning overnight ablation experiments into same-afternoon iteration.
