Physics Rigid Bodies#
Capability: Rigid Bodies (RB)
(Details)
Overview#
This capability enables physical simulation of solid objects with constant shape and size as well as collision detection and response between objects, dynamic motion simulation including gravity, forces, and constraints, and integration with physics engines for real-time and offline simulation. A rigid body is an idealized solid object that maintains a constant shape and size regardless of the forces acting upon it, meaning the distance between any two points within the rigid body remains constant during simulation.
Domain Applications#
Simulated Worlds for Autonomous Driving Simulation: Rigid body physics can be used to simulate vehicle dynamics, collision detection, and interactions with the environment in autonomous driving workflows.
Virtual Factories: In manufacturing and factory layouts, rigid body physics are utilized to simulate the movement and interactions of robotics, machines, and people to optimize factory operations and ensure safety.
